There's adventure to be had in the mountains regardless of the season.
I love mountaineering in the spring and summer, alpine climbing in the summer, rock climbing year round, backcountry skiing and ice climbing all winter. I'd be honored to help you plan your next adventure.
I work on the West Coast, from the iconic volcanoes of the Pacific Northwest, to the towering granite of the Eastern Sierra. Whether you're looking for education, adventure, or to step outside your comfort zone, I'd be happy to be there with you.
Favorite trips of mine!
A few highlight trips from the Sierra and the Northwest.
High Sierra, 5 days, wild beauty
My favorite ski tour (so far) in the Sierra. Travel through the Evolution Basin on skis, linking goregous ski runs with beautiful terrain for a challenging 5-day trip in the mountains. We travel from Sabrina Lake over Echo Col to the Evolution Basin, then over Lamarck Col back towards North Lake to create an epic loop in gorgeous country.
This tour requires that we're able to pack light for an overnight, and move well with a loaded pack. We'll go light, but 5 days adds up!
Crystal Crag & Bear Creek Spire, 4 days, up to 2 climbers
High Sierra alpinism: combine a single day climb of Crystal Crag (II 5.6-5.8) with an overnight climb of Bear Creek Spire (III 5.6-5.8). This four day trip is approachable for those with some climbing experience, but will challenge you with exposure and the technical nature of the climbing in the High Sierra. An awesome combo of beautiful, accessible, and difficult. A personal favorite trip of mine from May to October.
There's an abundance of climbing routes in California, this combo is only one of hundreds of options open to us.
Mt. Hood (Wy'East) via the South Side, 1 or 2 days, up to 2 climbers
Mt. Hood hosts a wide variety of alpine climbs, from the best first timers route I know of, to advanced alpine climbs requiring true ice climbing, Hood has it all.
Hood is particualrly nice due to the infrastrucutre in place on the mountain, a historic lodge at the base, and luxury huts make for easy accomdations and travel, all we have to focus on is climbing, not tents and the rest.
